MHO LEGAL SERVICE DIVISION

  • The Special Division of the MHO, which aims to give Professional Legal Service based on humanitarian values guided by the act of immigration and passports in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of Malaysia.
  • Professional Legal Service is provided especially to foreign workers including refugees in Malaysia.
  • According to a report prepared by ‘Employers Federation, there are about 2.5 million registered foreign workers in 2013 and by the middle of 2014, it is estimated there are about 160,000 refugees registered with UNHCR in Malaysia. No matter how much the number of foreign nationals and refugees, now there are millions of migrant workers and refugees who are not registered in Malaysia. THEY OFTEN BECOME THE VICTIM OF FRAUD AND ABUSE ACTION BY SOME IRRESPONSIBLE PARTIES

 

THE MAIN PURPOSE

1.MHO Legal Service is to protect the rights and welfare of refugees and foreigners in Malaysia.

2.Federal Constitution of Malaysia guarantees and protection of the diversity of the fundamental rights and freedoms of its citizens. The fundamental rights and freedoms are to be found in Articles 5 to 13 of the Federal Constitution.

3.Article 8 (1) of the Federal Constitution provides that ALL PERSONS ARE EQUAL BEFORE THE LAW AND ENTITLED TO EQUAL PROTECTION.
